Facebook’s attempt in building own OS

Voilà!!! Facebook has announced that it will build its own OS (operating system).
Isn’t that the news for the day?

Facebook has always been under radar for privacy concerns. Finally, they have taken up the responsibility to come up with their own Operating System. Currently, Facebook’s Video calling devices like Portal and VR, AR headsets like Oculus use Android OS. By bringing in their own Operating System, Facebook could well be on the course of introducing new features and rebuilding the wall around the Privacy concerns.

According to The Information, Windows NT co-author Mark Lucovsky has been handed over the responsibility to build the Operating System. Facebook’s VP of Hardware, Andrew Baseworth said, “We really want to make sure the next generation has space for us. We don’t think we can trust the marketplace or competitors to ensure that’s the case. And so we are gonna do it ourselves.”

Of course, every entity out there in the real world is a competitor and a potential threat. Yes, trust issues play a major role. Building own OS will give the freedom to power its own hardware dreams and also restrict dependencies on others. As Facebook is embarking on building its own OS, all eyes will be on how they work on improving and ensuring more private and a more secure experience for users.

Well, we wish them all the best and look forward to their OS launch.
